The moment i post videos of me lifting heavy, i knew i was gonna get applauses and precautions. But all were, i understand, out of love.
I have been lifting for some time now. Started in September 2017 with a gym instructor, Mike Supremo at Balbonkbons Fitness Gym, because that’s just the best way to go. I have been going to the gym on my own and let me tell yah, a gym instructor makes a huge difference especially if you’re starting out and have no clue what to do the moment you step inside the metal clicking gym.
But anyways, lifting heavy, should you do it? Should girls do it?
If you are physically capable, then Absolutely. Get the right form and lift!
However, if you completely do not like the idea of sweating out with a metal bar behind your neck, then it’s totally fine. Do your thing gurl. We still love you. Different strokes for different folks.
But if you’re totally fine with it, and the only thing stopping you from lifting is the society’s whispers saying it makes you bulky and manly and unattractive, then my love, am here to tell you based on experience and other people’s result, that those who “seriously” follow a training program, and a healthy meal plan, and really gave it all in the gym had amazing results not just in body shape but emotionally and psychologically.
Perhaps you were consulting the wrong tribe and listening to the wrong mouth. Be careful.
Be smart and do some research, that’s what the internet is for. Detoxification, anti aging, fat burn are some of the few benefits of lifting. It makes you feel great and boost your confidence to the sky too!
Remember it takes a good diet, exercise, sleep and supplementation for “fast” results. All of these in the book “4 Hour Body” by Tim Ferris. If you need more in dept explanation, go read it. And yes love, it takes work. All great things take work, time and dedication.
Nothing can come out if you do it with half your heart and half your best. Give it your all. Results will come. Guaranteed!
Track your results, monitor your tiniest progress.
A tip, i tend to really do good with my diet if i really REALLY push myself at the gym. Damn! I didn’t just almost died for nothing y’all! So if i train hard, those fries look like a nightmare. I know all the sweat and curses i spilled at the gym will all for naught if i have fries. A nightmare!
So yeah, perhaps, maybe all you needed was to work hard, monitor your results and be patient. Don’t be afraid to sweat & look terrifying when you lift. And get serious about it. You can do it.
